Southam Gallery is one of the most bustling galleries in Utah, thanks to owner Linda Southam. She has a knack for choosing artists whose works have great appeal not only to local art collectors but to out-of-staters as well.
When I walked into her gallery last Wednesday, I was greeted by a number of recent works of the gallery's artists. There are some wonderful paintings by Nancy Lund, Diane Turner, Linda Curley, John Jarvis, Richard Murray and John Myrup. Also work by two new artists - David Koch and Grant L. Redden. And there's a price range to fit most budgets: Linda Curley's paintings range from $150 to $1,375 and Diane Turner's from $1,150 to $2,500. Nancy Lund's two large floral paintings are priced between $4,000 and $5,000.
Art sells fast in this gallery, so some of the works I saw just a few days ago might be gracing the walls of people's homes by now.
The current show, featuring paintings by Curley, Lund, Turner, Koch, Russell Case and Steve McGinty, continues through May 15.
