Richard Boyer is amazing!  Wonderful versatility & talent! His cityscapes glow with vitality and fervor, capturing the spirit of each city he paints. The play of light always unquestioningly beautiful and captivating.
He travels the world while exceptionally reproducing his journeys for his many collectors!!
We love working with Richard, and finding homes for his beautiful paintings!

The Southams

Richard Boyer began painting at an early age, showing his work while attending high school in Williamsville, New York. Boyer then graduated from the University of Utah, where for five years he studied portrait and figurative painting under Alvin Gittins. Gittins' ability to render the figure so accurately intrigues and influences Boyer to this day.

After earning his B.F.A. in 1981, Richard's wanderlust took him to Germany, where he studied languages at the Universität Kiel. With Kiel as a home base, he traveled throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In 1984, he left Kiel for West Berlin, which provided a rich backdrop for experimentation in his painting style. There he lived the bohemian life with other German artists, painting the harsh reality of a city trapped behind the iron curtain.

Richard Boyer enjoys his yearly travels back to Europe, where he spends a month searching for new locations and intriguing subjects for each new painting.

Richard's recognition includes,  American Artist (where he was featured on the cover and in an eight-page article), Arts for the Parks, a purchase award from the Grand Teton Natural History Association, the Marine Art Award, and Judge's Choice Award Arts. His work has been displayed in the "Oil Painters of America"and Southwest Art as an "Artist to Watch". He has also won the "Art Times Award" from the Salmagundi Club in New York and the Stobart Foundation Award.
