ARTISTIC STATEMENT My work explores the deep passion I have for space, color, line, and its’ relationship to our lives. It explores the meaning of openness and also deals with closure and how we react subjectively to it. It seems to me that “open space” is being replaced by building materials and the inventions we have made. I am proposing that the open space in these works would help to remind us of peace, communication of who we are, and lend understanding to our existence.
Color and line have long been the artistic endeavors I have clung to throughout my career. They also give definition to our everyday lives as well. How humans deal with living with themselves, as well as other living things is essential to the well being of the planet. Hopefully these works will give rise to questions and offer some tranquility for the viewers.
